Flaming Night – You Don’t Need Skill, Just A Desire To Paint

This full day event will be held at Westbury Arts Centre, Foxcovert Road, Shenley Wood, MK5 6AA. As well as our full day painting lessons in Milton Keynes, we also do painting evenings in Pubs and Bars.

Kat Mugg is a recently Certified Ross Instructor who has added her own spectacular twist to the traditional Bob Ross techniques. With the use of different colours and variations on the tradtional techniques, she has produced her own style of unique abstract but ethereal  landscape paintings. You can see more of her paintings HERE.

It doesn’t matter in the least if you haven’t picked up a paint brush for years, because you will walk away with your own unique piece of artwork. Our resident artist will take you, step-by-step, though then process of turning your blank canvas into your own special masterpiece. With a glass in one hand, and a paintbrush in the other, your skills will transfer painlessly to the canvas on your easel. You are guaranteed to produce a dramatic painting that you will be proud to hang on your wall.

As always, we provide everything that you need…… a 40cm x 80cm, or 42cm x 60cm canvas, easel, brushes, paints, aprons, music and a great atmosphere where you can create to your heart’s content.

The Bob Ross Technique

Although not a true Bob Ross painting, Flaming Night is painted the Bob Ross way. The Bob Ross technique helps people produce a fully detailed beautiful painting within a very short time. It uses the wet-on-wet style of painting and a number of specially designed paints, knives, brushes to produce clouds, mountains, trees and water within minutes. Furthermore, these longer workshops are designed to help you produce more detailed paintings than our evening events. Learn more about Bob Ross and The Joy of Painting.

The Bob Ross technique is a style of painting that requires the Bob Ross equipment, materials and techniques. You will need to follow the Bob Ross method to get the best possible picture though. There will be some opportunity to go off-piste, but following the Bob Ross process work’s best.

Incidentally, we now sell Bob Ross Art Supplies. Click Bob Ross Art Supplies to see more.

The event starts at 11.00 am but arrive around 15 minutes early. Grab a seat, grab a cuppa and grab an easel. We start at 11.00, and will definitely by finished by 16.30.  Because of licensing and food supply regulations, we cannot now provide a Subway lunch or a Gin and Tonic. Please bring your own packed lunch. We will be supplying unlimited Tea, Coffee and Biccies though.

Although we provide aprons, it might be worth wearing old clothes (just in case). Be warned that we will be using oil paints, and these take anything from a couple of days to a week to dry. It will be easy to take your painting home if you buy a frame. But if you don’t buy one then we have a way to protect your painting so that you can take it home.

Ticket Prices

Ticket prices of £65.00 for adults and £45.00 for under 18s include ALL materials required, tea, coffee, biscuits, and a Subway lunch. You can buy a frame for £25.00, but you don’t need to.

Car parking is available at Westbury Art Centre grounds.

A Bob Ross day is a social event first, and an art lesson second. It’s Fun Art set to music, not Fine Art done dull.
