Event description

Forest Edge – Bob Ross

Sunday 2nd August

The Woolpack in Buckingham

Forest Edge is another full painting day using oil paints, and is a full Bob Ross painting. The original is painted on a smaller canvas. This version will be painted on a large canvas

Enchanted Falls – You Don’t Need Skill, Just A Desire To Paint

Forest Edge Forest Edge, by Bob Ross. Stroll down to the edge of the summer woodland with us and experience the misty beauty of the sunlight emerging through the trees; the squirrel standing a quiet guard. The bright light in the distance hints of the hot sun outside the shaded cool of the forest. This is Gruffalo country. Forest Edge incidentally is the final painting and exam of the Bob Ross CRI course.

This full day event is held in the Cote room at The Woolpack, Well Street, Buckingham, MK18 1EP – our normal venue of The Westbury Arts Centre being unavailable on this date. Regrettably, we cannot serve one of our speciality Gins at the Woolpack.

We will be applying Government recommendations regarding Covid19, and there is more on this at the bottom of this page. The Woolpack is an ideal venue for us as the evening will be held in The Cote building. This is a large out building separate from the main pub, and refreshments will be delivered.

As well as our full day painting lessons in Milton Keynes, we also do painting evenings in Pubs and Bars.

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t picked up a paint brush for years, because you will walk away with your own unique piece of artwork on a large 40 cm x 80 cm canvas. Russell Collins, the resident artist will take you, step-by-step, through the process of turning your blank canvas into your own special masterpiece. With a glass in one hand, and a paintbrush in the other, your skills will transfer painlessly to the canvas on your easel. You are guaranteed to produce a beautiful painting that you will be proud to hang on your wall.

As always, we provide everything that you need…… a 40cm x 80cm canvas, easel, brushes, paints, aprons, music and a great atmosphere where you can create to your heart’s content.

The Bob Ross Technique

The Bob Ross technique helps people produce a fully detailed beautiful painting within a very short time. It uses the wet-on-wet style of painting and a number of specially designed paints, knives, brushes to produce clouds, mountains, trees and water within minutes. Furthermore, these longer workshops are designed to help you produce more detailed paintings than our evening events. Learn more about Bob Ross and The Joy of Painting.

The Bob Ross technique is a style of painting that requires the Bob Ross brushes and paints. You will need to follow the Bob Ross method to get the best possible picture though. There will be some opportunity to go off-piste, but following the Bob Ross process work’s best.

The event starts at 10.00 am but arrive around 15 minutes early. Grab a seat, grab a cuppa and grab an easel. We start at 10.00, and will definitely by finished by 16.30. The Woolpack is a Pub and Restaurant and does have a bar.

Although we provide aprons, it might be worth wearing old clothes (just in case). Be warned that we will be using oil paints, and these take up to a week to dry. It will be easy to take your painting home if you buy a frame. But if you don’t buy one then we have a way to protect your painting so that you can take it home.

Ticket Prices

Ticket prices of £65.00 for adults and £50.00 for under 18s include ALL materials required, tea, coffee, and biscuits. Lunch is included included as The Woolpack is a restaurant and provides a light menu option with the hiring of The Cote. Food licencing laws unfortunately mean that you can only eat food supplied by The Woolpack on the premises. The cost of lunch is included in the ticket. You can also buy a frame for £20.00, but you don’t need to.

Car parking is available at the Waitrose Supermarket which is just over the river at the back of the Woolpack

A Bob Ross day is a social event first, and an art lesson second. It’s Fun Art set to music, not Fine Art done dull.
