Klimt’s Cat

Tuesday 30th April

Ottoman Kitchen in Woburn Sands

Klimt CatThe first of our “Paint Like” series with “Paint Like Klimt”. Gustav Klimt loved cats, and one of his most well know paintings is of one of of a cute, whimsical cat in a country garden. You don’t have to paint this cat, you can use your own family furry member if you want. See later on what you need to do.

Come to the  Ottoman Kitchen in Woburn Sands on Tuesday 30th April and paint “Klimt’s Cat” – one of Klimt’s well known paintings.

Tickets are £31.00 downwards, and at the end of the evening you will take away your own personal masterpiece. The ticket price includes ALL materials and equipment, and you will be able to purchase an optional frame for £15.00 if you want.

It doesn’t matter in the least if you haven’t picked up a paint brush for years, because you will walk away with your own unique piece of artwork. Our resident artist will take you, step-by-step, through the process of turning your blank canvas into your own personal masterpiece. With a glass in one hand, and a paintbrush (or a cotton bud) in the other, your skills will transfer painlessly to the canvas on your easel. So power up your inner Picasso and come and join us.

We provide everything that you need…… a 30cm x 40cm  canvas, or canvas board, easel, brushes, paints, aprons, music and a great atmosphere where you can create to your heart’s content.

What You Will Learn

As well as being a social event, it is also a creative learning event and it will help you help your younger relatives come top of the class in art. You will paint a floral background where you will be shown how to paint small flowers of different colur and type, a simple black cat, and then flowers in the foreground.

Tickets for Klimt’s Cat

Tickets are from £31.00 and a quantity discount applies. The price includes all heating for the evening.  The ticket price does NOT include refreshments. Drinks and food can be bought at the bar, and of course the Ottoman Kitchen has a great menu. The ticket price includes ALL materials and equipment, at the end of the evening you will take away your own personal masterpiece. You will be able to purchase an optional frame for £15.00 if you want. Be warned, the setup of the venue does NOT lend itself to a full scale meal whilst painting, but finger food is easily accomodated.

Klimt’s Cat – Do It Your Way

We’re only going to guide you, we’re not going to instruct you. If you want to do it your own way, then feel free – You can interpret our guidance in any way you like. If you want to change the colours to suit your home décor, then feel free to do so – bring some of your own wall paint if you want. You will be given options of different colour schemes, but it is the combinatios of browns, blacks and white that makes this painting so striking. It is great when people do their own thing, we love it when we learn a new way to do something.

Personalisation. If you want to use a picture of your own pet. Take a picture in this pose and scale the print so that the sitting cat, or dog is about 2/3rds – 3/4 the height of a sheet of A4 paper. Then get a Sharpie pen and draw around the animal, and around any distinguishing marks and limbs. Take special care around the eyes – make sure though that you draw on something as Sharpies bleed through – that is what we need.

The event starts at 18.30 pm but it helps if you arrive around 15 minutes early to grab a seat, grab a drink and grab an easel. We start at 18.30, and will definitely by finished by 21.30.

Although we provide aprons, it might be worth wearing old clothes (just in case).

Special Note

Tickets for Klimt’s Cat start at £31.00 (heating included) and a quantity discount applies.

Car Parking

There is some car parking on the High Street, but mostly in the public car park behind the restaurant. You can also use the Pay To Use car park at The Swan further up the hill.

Amazing Artist Scheme

We now have our Amazing Artist scheme. We give you a card and we stamp it for every event you come to, including our day events. When you have 8 stamps we give you your next Paint Night free. It is our way of saying Thank You.

A Paint Night Party is a social event first, and an art lesson second. It’s Fun Art set to music, not Fine Art done dull.
