Serenity – Bob Ross

Sunday 30th May

Westbury Arts Centre

Although this event on the 16th May is sold out, it is being run again in Buckingham on the 26th June in the Woolpack Pub. Book Here.

Serenity is another full painting day using oil paints, and is a full Bob Ross painting. The original is painted on a smaller canvas. This version will be expanded to show the landscape and the stream that flows on.

It is a bit of a risk, but we think The Westbury Arts Centre will be open again by the 16th May.

Serenity – You Don’t Need Skill, Just A Desire To Paint

Bob Ross SerenityBreaking the serenity of a misty morning walk is a lively stream crossing the path trodden by many a walker. The old tree marking the crossing point of the stream and the footpath. The crystal clear water, from the melting snow on the mountains flows down the gentle stream bed as it takes its long journey to the open sea.

The full painting is based on Serenity so can be classified as a proper Bob Ross event.

This full day event is held in the Drawing Room at The Westbury Arts Centre, Foxcovert Road, Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes, MK5 6AA.

AND GIN WILL BE SERVED. As the Arts Centre isn’t a Pub, we can serve one of our specialty Gins.

As well as our full day painting lessons in Milton Keynes, we also do painting evenings in Pubs and Bars.

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t picked up a paint brush for years, because you will walk away with your own unique piece of artwork on a large 40 cm x 80 cm canvas. Russell Collins, the resident artist will take you, step-by-step, through the process of turning your blank canvas into your own special masterpiece. With a glass in one hand, and a paintbrush in the other, your skills will transfer painlessly to the canvas on your easel. You are guaranteed to produce a beautiful painting that you will be proud to hang on your wall.

As always, we provide everything that you need…… a 40cm x 80cm canvas, easel, brushes, paints, aprons, music and a great atmosphere where you can create to your heart’s content.

The Bob Ross Technique

The Bob Ross technique helps people produce a fully detailed beautiful painting within a very short time. It uses the wet-on-wet style of painting and a number of specially designed paints, knives, brushes to produce clouds, mountains, trees and water within minutes. Furthermore, these longer workshops are designed to help you produce more detailed paintings than our evening events. Learn more about Bob Ross and The Joy of Painting.

The Bob Ross technique is a style of painting that requires the Bob Ross brushes and paints. You will need to follow the Bob Ross method to get the best possible picture though. There will be some opportunity to go off-piste, but following the Bob Ross process work’s best.

The event starts at 10.00 am but arrive around 15 minutes early. Grab a seat, grab a cuppa and grab an easel. We start at 10.00, and will definitely by finished by 16.30. The Westbury Arts Centre is a beautiful old building that is fitted out as an arts centre and exhibition centre.

Although we provide aprons, it might be worth wearing old clothes (just in case). Be warned that we will be using oil paints, and these take up to a week to dry. It will be easy to take your painting home if you buy a frame. But if you don’t buy one then we have a way to protect your painting so that you can take it home.

Ticket Prices

Ticket prices of £65.00 for adults and £50.00 for under 18s include ALL materials required, tea, coffee, and biscuits. Lunch is included included as The Woolpack is a restaurant and provides a light menu option with the hiring of The Cote.  The cost of lunch is included in the ticket. You can also buy a frame for £20.00, but you don’t need to.

A Paint Night Party is a social event first, and an art lesson second. It’s Fun Art set to music, not Fine Art done dull.
